Burggraeflerplatz è una piazza nel centro di Naturno, Alto Adige. Per anni era rimasta in stato di semi-abbandono — presente sulla mappa, assente dalla vita quotidiana. Il comune sapeva che era necessario un intervento ma non aveva ancora agito. Ci è stato chiesto di aiutare a riflettere su cosa potesse significare quel rinnovo.
Il lavoro è avvenuto su due scale. Sul terreno, abbiamo costruito due serie di sedute modulari insieme al Naturns Initiativgruppe — un arredo temporaneo pensato per riattivare la piazza prima di qualsiasi intervento ufficiale, per verificare se le persone l'avrebbero effettivamente riutilizzata con una ragione per farlo.
In parallelo, abbiamo prodotto un documento: quaranta riferimenti architettonici tratti da progetti europei comparabili a livello architettonico e sociologico, combinati con interviste ai residenti sul loro rapporto con la piazza e il villaggio. Il documento è stato consegnato allo studio di architettura incaricato di progettare il rinnovo permanente. Non una proposta progettuale, ma un argomento su cosa la piazza potesse contenere.
Il rinnovo è attualmente in corso.

Burggraeflerplatz est une place au centre de Naturno, en Tyrol du Sud. Pendant des années, elle s'était laissée détériorer — présente sur la carte, absente de la vie quotidienne. La commune savait qu'une rénovation était nécessaire mais n'avait pas encore agi. On nous a demandé d'aider à réfléchir à ce que cette rénovation pourrait signifier.
Le travail s'est déroulé à deux échelles. Sur le terrain, nous avons construit deux ensembles de sièges modulaires avec le Naturns Initiativgruppe — un mobilier temporaire conçu pour réactiver la place avant toute intervention officielle, pour vérifier si les gens l'utiliseraient à nouveau si on leur en donnait l'occasion. Ils l'ont fait.
En parallèle, nous avons produit un document : quarante références architecturales tirées de projets européens comparables d'espace public, combinées avec des entretiens avec des habitants sur leur rapport à la place et au village. Le document a été remis au cabinet d'architecture chargé de concevoir la rénovation permanente. Ce n'était pas une proposition de design. C'était un argument sur ce que la place pouvait contenir.
La rénovation est actuellement en cours.
