Il progetto si propone come un processo di scoperta attiva del territorio del Périgord Vert, combinando ricerca teorica e pratica sul campo. L'obiettivo principale è quello di ripensare il lavatoio pubblico come luogo di partecipazione dei cittadini alla vita politica del territorio.
Oggi inutilizzati e spesso trascurati, i lavatoi pubblici del Périgord Vert fanno parte del "piccolo patrimonio" della regione. Allo stesso tempo, rappresentano uno dei rari spazi pubblici gratuiti e accessibili ancora presenti nei villaggi rurali. La loro presenza ci invita, come designer e artisti, a mettere in scena un processo di riattivazione di queste architetture.
Così è nato FUTUREMATIQUE, il festival locale intorno ai lavatoi, che sarà temporaneamente installato, tra marzo e maggio 2022, nello spazio pubblico di sei villaggi del Périgord Vert e Dronne et Belle. Il festival rafforza i legami e ne crea di nuovi invitando associazioni, studenti, performer, rappresentanti comunali, comuni, cittadini, esperti, scienziati, tecnici, ecc. a partecipare per reinvestire questi spazi pubblici.
Infine, il lavatoio è uno spazio che permette un incontro privilegiato tra la cultura umana e gli esseri non umani. La presenza dell'acqua e di chi la abita spinge il nostro pensiero verso scale diverse, aprendo la riflessione verso il rapporto tra umano e non umano e la governance dei beni comuni.

The project is proposed as a process of active discovery of the territory of the Périgord Vert, combining theoretical research and field practice. The main objective is to rethink the public washhouse as a place for citizens to participate in the political life of the territory.
Today unused and often neglected, the public washhouses of the Périgord Vert are part of the region's "small heritage". At the same time, they represent one of the few free and accessible public spaces still present in rural villages. Their presence invites us, as designers and artists, to stage a process of reactivation of these architectures.
This is how FUTUREMATIQUE was born, the local festival around the washhouses, which will be temporarily installed, between March and May 2022, in the public space of six villages in the Périgord Vert and Dronne et Belle. The festival strengthens links and creates new ones by inviting associations, students, dancers, elected representatives, municipalities, citizens, experts, scientists, technicians, etc. to participate in order to reinvest these public spaces.

The presence of water and those who inhabit it pushes our thinking towards different scales, opening up the reflection towards the relationship between human and non-human and the governance of common goods.
