EN. A single continuous shot moves through the site of a childhood forest, now clear-cut and unrecognizable. In transparency, frottages of the trunks float across the image — sensitive imprints of what once was. Sound layers chainsaw noise over the actual friction of paper on wood. Coupe rase does not document a rupture: it inhabits it, letting the ghosts of a lost landscape surface. The forest is gone. Its traces remain, suspended between loss and presence.
IT. Un piano sequenza percorre il sito di un bosco d'infanzia, oggi abbattuto e irriconoscibile. In trasparenza, fluttuano i frottage dei tronchi — impronte sensibili di ciò che è stato. Il suono sovrappone le motoseghe all'attrito della carta sul legno. Coupe rase non documenta una rottura: la abita, lasciando affiorare i fantasmi di un paesaggio perduto. Il bosco è andato. Le sue tracce restano, sospese tra perdita e presenza.

EN. Règle is filmed at spring dusk in the Auvergne, at the edge of a recently cleared forest. At the centre of the devastated field, a pond has formed in the ruts left by logging trucks. A European green toad is singing there.
The device is simple: the camera moves when the animal sings, stops when it falls silent. Nothing else.
Règle is the second part of the diptych Coupe Rase, alongside Ancora
IT. Règle è girato al crepuscolo di primavera, in Alvernia, ai margini di una foresta recentemente abbattuta. Al centro del campo devastato, si è formata una pozza negli avvallamenti lasciati dai camion. Un rospo smeraldino vi canta.
Il dispositivo è semplice: la macchina da presa si muove quando l'animale canta, si ferma quando tace. Nient'altro.
Règle è parte del dittico Coupe Rase, insieme ad Ancora.

On the opposite screen, a mound of earth begins moving in the same direction, accompanied by a sound that is almost geological — a slow, visceral landslide. Spostamento sets two scales of matter and two gestures of appropriation in tension. Sound does not illustrate but amplifies: it introduces a broader, almost tectonic sensory dimension. Recommended viewing with headphones or a subwoofer audio system.
